What's an adverb?

An adverb is a word that can modify (change the meaning) of an adjective or a verb, or even another adverb. An adverb often answers one of the questions "How, How often, When or Where?", and can also often have the ending -ly  . Look at the following example sentences:

The machine works quickly.
We work in a very old building.
Our manager will not be in today, as he's sick with the flu.
The sales department has been invited too.

The words quicklyvery, not and too are all adverbs.

Identify the adverbs in the following sentences:

He types slowly, but without mistakes.
Could someone open the window? It is too hot in here to work.
I often take night classes to improve my skills.
His emails are very funny to read.
