Consider the time line in the following question:



You should have noticed that one of the dates is well into the future (2040).  How should you refer to such a time in your IELTS Task 1 answer?

Well, here are a few phrases that can be used in such situations:
  • is expected to be
  • is anticipated to be
  • is projected to be
Let's now see how such a phrase can be used in a sentence referring to 2040.

The proportion of the population aged 65 and over in Japan, Sweden and the USA is expected to be within a range of 23% to 27%.
