Many people agree that, in general, people are living longer today than they did in the past.

Discuss the reasons for this phenomenon.

It has been proven that smoking kills.  In some countries it has been made illegal for people to smoke in all public places except certain areas.  All countries should make these rules. 

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In many countries, the proportion of older people is steadily increasing.

Does this trend have more positive or negative effects on a society?

Some people think that children should learn to obey and do as parents and teachers say. Others think that this kind of upbringing will not prepare children for real life.

Some parents think that childcare centres provide the best services for children of pre-school age. Other working parents think that family members such as grandparents are better carers for their children.
