in TOEIC Test
The TOEIC test is used by businesses to test the fluency of their workers. The Educational Testing Service has announced a few changes for the test, starting in May of 2016.
First, the language is going to become more colloquial, using constructions such as "gonna" and "wanna" in the listening test (instead of "going to" and "want to". Also, dialogues will be more natural on the listening test, with broken sentences. The listening test will also include dialogues between three people, added to the monologues and two-person dialogues already present.
The test-taker also needs to understand text messaging and common abbreviations used in texts.
The ETS insists that the difficulty of the test will remain the same and that the changes merely update the test to reflect modern communication styles.
