Do you have to write a conclusion for Writing Task 1?

in IELTS Test
The short answer to the above question = no.
A conclusion is not necessary because you have been asked to summarise the main features of the task.
There are three things a good Academic Task 1 answer with contain:
1. An introduction
2. An overview or summary statement and
3. A description of the key features using supporting data.
You are asked to report the main features of the graph/table/diagram, so a summary of the main features is expected - but not a conclusion. This is different to Task 2 where you are asked to give your opinion about something and therefore a conclusion must be included .
