IELTS Task 1: Use Personal Pronouns?

Today I received a Task 1 answer which contained the following sentence:
The problem with this sentence is the use of 'we' in the answer. In Writing Task 1 I do not recommend using personal pronouns in your answer. In Task 1 writing, the academic writing approach is to not use personal pronouns.
So, in the example above, we would write it as follows:
Correct the following IELTS Academic Task 1 sentences:
1. I see that the price almost doubled.
2. I would like to point out that the price dramatically increased.
3. We can see that attendance increased by almost 20%.
