The first part of the Cambridge Speaking Exam is a series of "getting to know you" questions.

The most important piece of advice is to stay calm. These questions give the examiner a chance to hear you speak and you get the chance to show that you can speak English.

Sample questions:

Where are you from?

What is something your country is known for?

Do you eat out? Where?

Is it expensive to eat out in your city?

Do you prefer to eat out or to cook for yourself? Why?

What sports do you do? What sports are popular in your country?

What type of clothes do people wear in your country? Are there traditional clothes?

Do students wear uniforms to school?

What type of music do you like?

Do you play a musical instrument?

Is it easy to hear live music in your country? Where?

Are there any groups or performers who are popular internationally from your country?
