IELTS accepts many different forms of dates but you must make sure you follow the instructions for the question!

For example, if an instruction is Write NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS AND/OR NUMBERS and the answer date is 'October 15, 2015', it could be written in the following ways:

Correct

Incorrect

October 15, 2015 (one 'word', two numbers)

the 15th of October, 2015 (three words, two numbers)

Oct 15, 2015 (one ‘word’, two numbers)

5th October, 2015 (one wrong number)

15 October, 2015 (two numbers, one word)

15 of Octber, 2015 (misspelled word)

October 15 2015 (one word, two numbers)

15 Oc, 2015 ('Oc' is NOT the standard abbreviation for 'October')
