The TOEIC Reading Part 7 is Reading Comprehension. Below, you are going to read a sample reading passage followed by 4 questions. For each question, choose the answer which you think fits best according to the text.

From: Chairman Alan Robinson
To: All Staff

Subject: New divisions

Hello to all employees,

You may have heard already from your managers that at the Board Meeting on Monday the Board Members voted to divide our Electronics Production Department into two separate departments: Cell Phone Production and Consumer Products Production.

We voted this decision because the cell phone division is growing rapidly and uses different sources than the other consumer products that we sell, such as satellite decoders, Bluetooth speakers, and Wifi routers. Each department will have its own marketing and sales staff for the same reason, because the cell phone market is not necessarily the same market as that for our other consumer products.

The division should take place seamlessly. Most employees were working either on cell phones or on other consumer products. If your job involved both, you are invited to discuss which department you choose to be associated with. We anticipate having two fully operational departments in less than 6 months.

The good news is that Cell Phone Production will also be hiring, so if you know of any engineers with 2 - 5 years of experience in microelectronics, we are creating new positions! We will also be hiring some assembly technicians on a part-time basis in order to fill the backlog of orders.

Sincerely yours,

Alan Robinson
Chairman of the Board
Jango Electronics

    Why the quiz no.3 can't select (A) ?

    Hi Mona,

A good question. In fact "seamlessly" means "easily, smoothly", so "without difficulty" is the best answer. This change may, or may not, take place quickly, so "rapidly" (choice A) is not the best answer.

    Hope this helps!
